D200 Asphalt Distributor – Precision Sprayer for Rejuvenator Applications
The DESCO D-200 Distributor is a precision spraying machine designed to apply asphalt rejuvenator material. The rejuvenator is a dark brown to black cementitious material made up primarily of bitumens that occur naturally or are produced during petroleum processing. The material restores the asphalt’s natural oils and penetrates the surface. This machine is built to apply rejuvenator at a coverage rate of 0.04 to 0.08 gallons per square yard, with ground speeds ranging from 85 to 150 yards per minute (2.9 to 5.1 mph). When spraying, the ground speed stays locked at the preset value for the selected coverage rate, controlled by fully depressing the foot pedal in the forward direction. A digital meter on the control panel monitors ground speed for accuracy.
The D-200 is widely used for coating airplane runways, as well as other high-value paved surfaces where precision and reliability matter.
The 27 horsepower air-cooled engine powers a hydro-transmission pump for ground drive. A constant-pressure auxiliary hydraulic pump operates the material pump, power steering, and spray bar.
The left side of the control console includes the engine tachometer/hour meter and switches for the lights. Instrument lights come on when the front light is activated. A circuit breaker protects the light circuits. This panel also displays charts showing coverage rates versus flow rates and ground speeds, along with a chart for tank capacity versus liquid level.
The right side of the console houses the ground speed monitor and controls, as well as the material pump flow rate monitor and control. The main power switch on the left side activates these systems, and a circuit breaker protects them.
The spray bar is an enclosed 8-foot-wide unit with 10 spray tips — 6 on the left side and 4 on the right. Each tip has its own shut-off valve, allowing full control over the spray pattern. The bar is optimized for 1.5 gallons per minute per tip, for a total of 15 gallons per minute when all tips are active. The pump speed control in the normal position delivers 15 gallons per minute. Turning the control clockwise increases flow up to approximately 20 gallons per minute, while turning it counterclockwise decreases it to about 5 gallons per minute. The spray bar is interlocked so spraying only occurs when the bar is in the down position.
